How exciting! We have indeed started a new, all-American talk-show series, named “The Bridge: Women World Wide.”
Before the pandemic, it has been concepted a little bit differently, but now – after staying in lockdown for several months – we know better what we want. We have also decided that The Bridge team will be all-American: it makes more sense time-wise and purpose-wise. For all its stresses and negativity and fear, the lockdown has a power to make us more focused. As a result, the purpose, the logo, and outreach, as well as the interviewees’ circle have been redefined.
What are our goals? Simple: to bridge outstanding women worldwide together in exciting and relevant-to-their-lives conversations, in front of gender-diverse audiences. As many diverse women from elsewhere have the United States as their country of choice to reside, we will explore how their talents from all over the world can use the opportunities the US offers–and how exactly they become a success in the US.
We start The Bridge project based on our knowledge of the need that the women in America have the necessity to share their inspirational stories and accumulated wisdom. This is the need + desire to be heard and supported by the other women who live and work internationally.
Women worldwide, on all 5 continents, are definitely on the rise, moving up in society, and having their voices heard more and more: consider the #MeToo movement, the growing number of women on corporate boards, in politics and upper management, as well as in diverse women’s organizations—and their ranks are swelling. Today, women are very-very busy, and this is why we want to pitch-in/help/promote a healthy lifestyle of those living & working globally, in the countries of their choice, so their lives get easier. How? We push towards women’s unity and self-help, so we will:
- Provide direct access to prominent women’s insights and resources
- Examine the how-to of women’s success in the US
- Engage in story-telling—all about multicultural women who live and work across countries, continents, and cultures and work for solutions in a complex world.
The Idea
The discussions with my colleagues – especially those with SIETAR-USA – made it clear that my recent book, How They Made It in America, has meaning for a broader audience than just immigrant women whose success stories it describes—because the issues raised in it are more universal, meaningful, and applicable. So, we decided to have this book as a conversation starter—and build on it, producing a special webinar or talk-show, or both! Thus, the idea based on my book is giving rise to a new talk-show series.
The Start
The talk show series opens with the topic “Women Worldwide on the Rise: What Do They Bring to the Table?” In it, we feature the guest who is one of my eighteen book subjects, Irmgard Lafrentz, a notable American entrepreneur, originally from Germany.
Why did we chose this topic? Women worldwide are moving up in life and having their voices heard more and more: consider #MeToo movement, the growing number of women on corporate boards, in politics and upper management—and their ranks are swelling. So, let‘s see what exactly they contribute to America’s well-being and culture at large, in other words, what they bring to the table when living & working globally, in the countries of their choice.
